  • Peloponnese at 1:150,000 on a large, double-sided, indexed road highlighting 10 top sights, all with brief descriptions in an accompanying booklet which also provides street plans of central Kalamata, Korinth, Nafplio, Patra and Sparta. The map is part of Freytag and Berndt’s extensive series of “Top 10 Tips” titles covering popular holiday destination in Europe, including Crete.

Coverage includes Aegina and Salamina, extending into Attika as far as Elefsina/Eleusina. The western tip of the Peloponnese is shown as an inset. All place names, including names of islands and geographical features, are given in both Latin and Greek alphabet.

Relief is portrayed by hill-shading without distracting from other detail. Road network shows minor roads and selected cart tracks, and includes information indispensable for happy holiday driving: motorway service stations and motels, gradients on steep roads, restricted entry for cars or caravans and seasonal closures, routes not recommended for caravans, scenic roads and special tourist routes, etc.

Local railways are shown and the route of the E4 long--distance hiking trail is marked. National parks and protected areas are indicated and towns and villages of particular interest are highlighted. Symbols mark various landmarks, places of interest and facilities, e.g. numerous archaeological sites, Byzantine churches, campsites, hostels, etc. Latitude and longitude lines are drawn at 10' intervals.

A separate booklet attached to the map cover has an index listing all the localities with their postcodes, and brief descriptions of 10 main places of interest, all highlighted on the map. Also included are street plans of central Kalamata, Korinth/Korinthos, Nafplio/Nauplio, Patra/Patras and Sparta/Sparti.
